Article Summary

Colorado has the 16th-friendliest tax system of all states for business, according to a recent ranking by the Tax Foundation.  As reported in its 2012 State Business Tax Climate Index, the ranking is a decline from previous years, when it placed as high as 10th in 2008.  The measure reported Colorado as receiving its highest score in the component of property taxes, where it placed 9th, and its lowest on sales taxes, where it placed 44th.  The report ranked the states of Wyoming, South Dakota, Nevada, Alaska and Florida as highest on the list.
