Colorado mass layoff numbers increase in April

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that the number of businesses in Colorado that laid off at least 50 persons increased in April from the previous month. According to the agency, 12 businesses met the benchmark in the period, an increase of 3 from March but a decline of 3 from April 2011.  The total affected 1,401 persons in the period.
